Starting with a layout of the room to room flow of the entire level, setting up the overall labyrinth.  Red arrows are doors opened by combat, black are opened by solving a puzzle, blue are opened with a second more complex puzzle, and gold are opened with keys found in yellow rooms.

 Next I went into a blockout prototype to get the feel of the size and shape of the room as well as demonstrate the mechanics of the puzzles in the room.

 Using a simple box to represent the character, we see how the player navigates through the puzzles.  This prototype doesn't have enemies or the actual elementals yet.

 moving the green wall with the wind vane blocks the wind from blowing the switch, which lets the red bars lower, unlocking the red ball.

 Our player decides to complete the second puzzle by starting to bring the balls to their correct slots.

 After bringing all 3 balls to their slots, the second door opens, allowing the player to take a different path out of the room.  Normally, the red door would be opened by defeating all the enemies in the room with your elementals.
